Creating an interactive multiplayer doodling experience for a party
Every November is special for Phantom as the agency celebrates its birthday. Every year it's bigger and awesomer (awesomerer?). In 2017 I've had an opportunity to create something for the party and decided to design an interactive doodling station that would engage with party goers.
The idea was to give each user, who logs into the UI with their NFC card, a single frame of the looped animation. We would later collect them all and display as an animation and/or as single frames.
The initial design had a selection of tools, stickers and various drawing modes. Unfortunately due to time constraints we opted to deliver a simplified version to make it in time for the party.
During the party attendees were really into the ultimate doodling machine. We gathered around a hundred frames which unfortunately got lost due to a technical error during import 🤦 (hey, Jos).
